LegalTerms of Service
Last updated: July 2026
Written in plain language so it's actually readable, but it's a straightforward summary, not a substitute for your own legal advice if you need it. Questions about any of it? Just ask over WhatsApp.
The service
DevDirect builds your business a website and provides an ongoing service to make changes to it by request, sent over WhatsApp in plain language. See the FAQ page for exactly what's handled automatically, what gets flagged for a closer look, and what falls outside the service entirely.
Plans and commitment
Your first month is free. After that, you're on the Starter or Growing plan (or a custom arrangement for larger needs), billed monthly, with a 3-month minimum commitment from when paid billing starts. There's no long-term contract beyond that minimum. You can cancel any time after it by telling us over WhatsApp.
Billing
Billing arrangements are agreed with you directly when you sign up. If anything about how or when you're billed changes, we'll tell you before it takes effect, not after.
Changes and approval
Every change is sent to you as a preview before anything goes live on your real site. Nothing changes without you replying "approve". Each plan includes a monthly allowance of changes and a limited number of refinement rounds per change; once used up for the month, further changes wait until your next billing cycle (or, for a change already in progress, you'll need to approve or discard it before starting a new one).
Ownership
The website built for your business is yours. DevDirect provides the ongoing build-and-change service; it doesn't claim ownership of your site, your content, or your brand.
Acceptable use
Requests must be for legitimate business content. We won't action requests to add illegal, deceptive, or harmful content, and we reserve the right to decline a request or end the service if this becomes a pattern.
Limitation of liability
DevDirect is provided as a small, hands-on service, not an enterprise platform with guaranteed uptime. We work to keep things reliable and fix problems quickly, but we aren't liable for indirect losses (like lost sales) arising from downtime or a delayed change. If something goes wrong on our end, tell us. We'd rather fix it than argue about it.
Ending the service
You can cancel any time after the 3-month minimum by messaging us. We may also end the service for non-payment or a clear violation of acceptable use, with notice where reasonably possible.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of South Africa.
